I first got to know Guthrie’s talents when he was playing with Patty Loveless and realized right away that he had that ‘thing’. Guthrie is one of those guys who can play absolutely anything you put in front of him.

Clearly Guthrie is one of the Nashville greats, and when he sat in with my band he had a sound and a flow that propelled the whole thing into a beautiful whirlwind of country funkiness. He’s a fantastic player.

Guthrie is without a doubt one of the greatest soloists I’ve ever heard. His playing is fluid, technical, inventive and soulful. Guthrie is the kind of guitarist that makes other players go home and want to either burn their axe or practice real hard.
