Birthday Weekend Recap!

Howdy, friends! Guthrie Trapp here Telecasting to you from sunny East Nashville, TN. I always want to say a big thank you up front for taking the time to check out these newsletters. We have a blast creating them! Below are some photo highlights from my 45th birthday weekend here in Nashville. It was another one for the books!

Friday

We started the weekend on a beautiful Friday as we cleared the schedule and took a little joy ride around Music City. We ended up at Little Hats Italian Market in Germantown where we had a great lunch and took in some much needed sunshine. This has become one of my favorite new spots. That night me and my pal Jack Ruch headed over to the Nashville Jazz Workshop to catch our good friends and jazz guitar monsters Pat Bergeson and Bruce Foreman. We even got to say hi to Alison Krauss and catch up for a few minutes. A great way to start the weekend!

Saturday

Saturday kicked off with a bang (literally) as we kicked into a bluegrass session for my new friend Mike Flanigin. Mike is a great B3 organ player and Austin, TX blues legend (Jimmie Vaughan, Billy F Gibbons) and it turns out he is a closet bluegrasser! He wanted to record an original song so we put this session together with some of Nashville’s finest. I can’t think of a better way to spend my official birthday than in the studio with my dear old friends. We capped it off with another fine group of people and a great dinner at one of our favorite restaurants called Rolf and Daughters. It was a perfect.

Sunday Funday

Sunday morning was low key as we rested up for the official birthday party to be held at the funky Underdog bar at 5pm. I was blown away by the attendance of so many of my favorite and colorful characters, some of whom I haven’t seen in years. There was a lot of love in the room, a great time was had by all and the music was top notch as well as the company. I was on cloud 9 all night. An unbelievable way to cap off the birthday weekend.
