This is a hard one to keep short because as usual, we covered a lot of ground in the past couple weeks here. It’s also hard to believe it’s July 4th weekend already!
First of all, I always want to say thank you guys so much for all the continued support and helping to grow this amazing community we are building here.
The older I get the more fortunate I feel to be a part of all this and we’re not stopping anytime soon!
The week kicked off with an incredible Immersion Experience with a very talented kid and his dad. The entire family came in from Singapore where they have been living for 7 years or so. He’s a huge Bob Dylan fan and is already singing some Dylan and Neil Young songs and busking all around the world!
Knowing that, when I picked them up to hit the town, I put Bob Dylan’s Infidels record on to listen to in the car…which I haven’t done in a long time. Then randomly at Gruhn Guitars, a few guys walked up and said hi to me and they ended up being on Bob Dylan‘s crew- front of house sound engineer and guitar tech for 20 years. Turns out I had met them 10 years ago when Bob Dylan played the Trap venue here which is now long gone. They invited me to the show last minute and the kid and his family ended up getting tickets and going down as well. Dylan and Willie Nelson put on a hell of a show. It’s always great to see legends at that age still doing what they love to do!
These types of crazy coincidences seem to happened on a daily basis here in Nashville. I’m always thrilled when things like this line up!
Then we started diving into the Guitar Party show later that week. We devoted the entire weekend of shows to help our dear friend and musical compadre, Nick Govrik, celebrate his solo record release titled One More Time For The Man. Nicky G is a multi talented renaissance man. He’s a fine chef, restauranteur, talented songwriter, bass player, father, husband and just an overall fantastic and lovable human being that you’ll never forget once you meet him.
Thursday was a nice rehearsal, followed by the main gig on Friday, which many of you were at, then the in-store at Grimey’s record shop on Saturday.
It’s so fulfilling to be on stage making music with guys that you love like brothers and totally respect musically. I’m an only child so they are all my honorary brothers in a way!
If you have not seen and heard the Guitar Party yet, it’s sort of a variety show mixed of all kinds of different music as it builds from the GT Trio and then sequentially adds Jimmy Wallace, Tom Bukovac, Jedd Hughes and then Nick Govrik comes out and sings a number of high energy and soulful originals. Throwing in some classic R&B covers doesn’t hurt as well. We can’t wait till the next one as these shows are just a total blast and always filled with close family and friends.
My parents were in town also for all of this, which is always awesome to spend time with them. I lucked out in the that department with Joe and Mary Trapp!
I’m sure having a blast on the amazing wild musical ride. As we keep working hard on many more projects to come, your support is greatly appreciated and needed!
So thank you all so much for that!
The adventure certainly continues…

What a night here in Music City. Another one for the books. So happy to see a bunch of you guys and gals there tonight!
“I had to make this record,
I needed something to sell out of my trunk.”
