“IN STEREO” Update
Hi everyone! Hope you’re doing great out there and thanks again for being part of this newsletter with us. It’s been a crazy few months here and I’m finally coming up for air now just catching up after the exciting release of “IN STEREO” and returning back to Nashville from the Key West Songwriters festival. No rest for the wicked around here!
Tom and I are honestly overwhelmed at the unbelievable success of this record release so far. We both would like to express our deepest appreciation to each and every one of you. We could not do it without you.
*Please Note* If you’ve ordered a CD and have not received it yet, we are getting them in the mail this week. We are so very thankful and amazed by the continued support towards the record and we have some more fun things coming your way on that! Keep your eyes out for some upcoming press to follow soon.
I just wanted to share some highlights from Key West and the Otis Gibbs interview we did last week below. Again, thanks so much!

“Hillbilly Private”
The Key West connection is a very long story so I’ll try to make it brief here. I started going down there as a teenager in the late 90’s to play the Hog’s Breath Saloon. It was a duo gig playing all original music as they’ve always had a special love for songwriters down there. We did this on and off for as long as I can remember. I then moved to Nashville years later and got hooked up with BMI and started doing their Key West Songwriters Festival. We had a long run there with Trapp, Abbott and Rhodes (TAR) backing up artist like Tony Joe White, Steve Cropper, Big Al Anderson and so on. There are some great memories…and a few things I don’t remember, ha!
It was great to rekindle all these relationships, see some old friends and make some new ones…as you do down there. It’s always cool to be acknowledged as the only solo instrumental artist at a songwriters festival where the majority are mainly commercial writers.
I was proud to be part of the “art department” this year including Chuck Cannon, Dylan Altman, Robert Randolph and the great band we had with us. I love Key West and its the only place in the Caribbean that you can drive to!
The flight down there was super fun since Delta sponsors the festival and provides a private direct flight for us. Nothing like a plane full of songwriters drinking at 7:00 in the morning! I call this flying “hillbilly private”.
I’ve learned that if you want to get musicians to show up, provide them with a great destination!

Otis Gibbs Interview
It’s been great getting to know Otis Gibbs over the past few months. We have so many friends in common I’ve lost count at this point. He’s a great interviewer and has a very cool YouTube channel covering a lot of territory with some very interesting and colorful characters. Definitely check that out.
Otis likes to hear stories about working with legendary artists and he wants to get it directly from the source. It was fun to talk about my relationship with Billy Gibbons in this episode for our first sit down in front of the camera together. We had a blast doing this one and hope you enjoy it!

For a town to have character, you have to have characters…and Otis Gibbs is one.
I hope you guys enjoy his channel as much as we do.
