Asked about the grand significance of his new solo album, Guthrie Trapp tries to pass it off as “just something that happened in between being busy playing for other people.”

His many family members, friends and supporters back in Baldwin County and the Pensacola area will know better. So does Peter Cooper, a respected music writer for the Nashville Tennessean, who recently used the album as the impetus for a lengthy article about a young player who has “established himself as a distinctive and important instrumental voice in Nashville.”

Even Trapp concedes that the release of “Pick Peace” is a career milestone that’s been a long time coming. “It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time,” he says.

But don’t blame him for the delay: He’s been busy.
