It doesn’t get much better than this for us. We had a fun rehearsal yesterday to prepare for our three sold out nights in New York City at the Bitter End this week. Here’s a little clip of Tom’s awesome song, “Bad Cat Serenade”. There’s nothing more fulfilling than playing our own music with our closest friends. There’s no one telling you what to do and there’s no corporate pressure. We are doing it sheerly for the unrelenting passion and love for music and the experiences it brings. This is why we are all lifers and there is no plan B. Hell, we might have a chance in this business yet. These shows will feature a nice variety of material performed by Jedd Hughes, Tom Bukovac, Nick Govrik, Jimmy Wallace, Jordan Perlson, Tim Marks and myself. Presented in part by @dingo_1969. There’s nothing like hanging and playing with your best friends that are also the most ferocious musicians on the planet. That’s what this whole week has been like as the past two nights were off the hook at our beloved old haunt, the OG Basement on 8th Ave. Our great friend, the insanely multi talented, Jedd Hughes, assembled a fine cast of characters to make music with for two back to back sold out shows this week. Guests included- Tom Bukovac, Ryan Wariner, Nick Govrik, Alyssa Bonagura with Tim Marks and Jordan Perlson guarding the groove. I joined in the fun as well and am always proud to be in the mix with these cats. Thanks to all of you that came out and shared in these two magical musical nights with us! Much more to come. “If there was a better music town, we’d all be living there” is something I’ve always said. Unlike other cities, there’s no ceiling here for music. If you want to be a GRAMMY winning banjo player, you can achieve that in Nashville. We can all learn here for the rest of our lives and that’s a huge part of why we all stay here through thick and thin. It’s that simple. It was so fun to stumble upon the old time jam session at Fran’s bar Sunday evening. A few old friends there, but mainly some folks I don’t really know. They welcomed us in and immediately put a guitar in my hands. This exact environment is how I learned how to play music. It’s hands on and jump in. Thanks, y’all! PS- I would’ve tagged more people in this, but I’m not exactly sure who they all are.
